Project Overview

Kampwater is in the final stages of delivering a comprehensive water treatment solution for Neopak, a leading manufacturer of high-quality recycled containerboard and related paper products. This project involved the drilling, equipping, and ongoing management of multiple boreholes, with a particular focus on implementing sustainable pumping schedules to protect the borehole aquifers over the long term. Ensuring a stable water supply is critical to Neopak’s manufacturing processes, and our system is designed to deliver 36kL per hour of treated water to meet their operational demands.

The water treatment process we have implemented begins with sediment and iron removal, achieved through the use of Activated Filter Media (AFM). This filtration stage ensures the removal of particulate matter and dissolved iron, which can interfere with production equipment and water quality. After this, the water passes through a nanofiltration (NF) system, which effectively removes hardness and elevated levels of silica. This stage is crucial for maintaining the integrity of Neopak’s production processes by preventing scale formation and ensuring the overall quality of the treated water.

In addition to the treatment system, Kampwater has equipped Neopak’s operation with real-time monitoring technology, tracking borehole performance, water quality, and system efficiency. The advanced control systems installed allow seamless switching between borehole and municipal water sources when necessary, ensuring uninterrupted production and optimizing resource usage. Our solution has been specifically tailored to meet Neopak’s operational needs while promoting both efficiency and sustainability, providing a strong return on investment (ROI) through reduced reliance on external water sources and improved water management.
