Project Overview
Nooitgedacht had problems with Crypto Sporidium and Giardia in their water treatment process as these cysts are not affected by chlorination. UV is a very good barrier for these cysts as these are eradicated at a low UV dose.
Project Solution
The system at Nooitgedacht combines the best of both worlds namely low dose chlorination for a latent effect and UV as a barrier for the pathogens that are not affected by chlorination.
We installed 3 x In-Line UV Systems – DN 800; with 12 x 8Kw lamps each. Each UV system is capable of treating up to 90 MLD.
